Heading to CHINA

Two weeks ago, we received our travel approval to go to China to adopt Grace. This was the last piece of paperwork we were waiting for!!!! We are so excited to finally be leaving to go get her!!!! She is 19 months old and is located in the Guangxi province. We will be heading to China in about a week. We will be in Beijing for 2 days then fly to her province. We are scheduled to get Grace on Monday, July 18th. Please pray for Grace as her world is about to completely change. We are taking the boys and Lynn's mom and stepdad Ray with us, so we are not sure whether to ask for prayer for China or our family......so pray for both! :)

Grace has been in a foster home since she was only a few weeks old. We know she will grieve the loss of her foster family as well as the loss of all she knows as her world. Please be in prayer with us that she will be able to quickly and easily bond to us and know that we are her family. We have been in constant prayer that God would prepare her heart to meet us and know we are the parents He created for her. We are praying that having the boys with us on the trip will help her transition more smoothly as well.

We ask you to also please pray for our health while we are in China. We are praying all of us can remain healthy and not become ill while on our trip. Our trip to get Jonathan four years ago became very eventful when Joey got sick from the Pizza Hut dinner. :) We would like to NOT repeat that!!

Please also pray for our travel. Ethan has never flown before and Jonathan does not remember flying home from China. We are praying for smooth flights so the boys can have a great experience. Also, many of you know Lynn HATES to fly. Honestly, the only way she is getting on the plane is because she knows her little girl is waiting for her across the ocean. The thought of going to get her baby boy was what got her through the trip last time! Prayers will be GREATLY appreciated. She nearly drove Joey nuts on the last trip. At least this time he will not be alone. She can drive her mom and Ray nuts too! :)

We will have a blog again as we did when adopting Jonathan. Blogs and facebook are blocked in China, but a dear friend has graciously agreed to update our blog as we send information to her. We will do our best to document each day and have pictures.

Thank you for your kind words and prayers over the past year in preparing for this moment! We are so thankful to have each of you as part of our family!
